Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and Citrus Fantasy Hockey ("Citrus," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of our mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, accessing, or using our Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

To use our Service, you must meet the following requirements:

• Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
• Minors (13-17): Must have parental or guardian consent to use the Service
• Legal Capacity: You must have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
• Compliance: You must comply with all local, state, national, and international laws

By using our Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

To access certain features, you must create an account by providing:

• A valid email address
• A secure password
• A username (display name)

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to update your information as necessary.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Ensuring that you log out from your account at the end of each session

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account.

You may only create one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent rules, manipulate leagues, or gain unfair advantages is strictly prohibited and may result in termination of all your accounts.

Citrus Fantasy Hockey is a fantasy sports platform that allows users to:

• Create and join fantasy hockey leagues
• Draft NHL players onto fantasy teams
• Manage team rosters through adds, drops, and trades
• Compete against other users based on real NHL player statistics
• View matchup scores, standings, and league information

Citrus Fantasy Hockey is a game of skill for entertainment purposes only. No entry fees are charged, and no monetary prizes are awarded.

Citrus Fantasy Hockey is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the National Hockey League (NHL), any NHL team, or the NHL Players' Association. All NHL-related trademarks, logos, and player names are the property of their respective owners and are used for informational purposes only.

We obtain player statistics from publicly available NHL data sources. While we strive for accuracy:

• Statistics may be delayed or contain errors due to official NHL data corrections
• We are not responsible for inaccuracies in official NHL statistics
• Scoring may be adjusted retroactively based on official stat corrections
• We reserve the right to correct obvious errors or discrepancies

Each league has a commissioner (the user who created the league) with the following powers:

• Modify league settings and scoring rules
• Approve or reject trades between teams
• Process waiver claims and free agent acquisitions
• Resolve disputes between league members
• Remove teams or users from the league for rule violations

Commissioner decisions are final within their leagues. Citrus does not intervene in league-specific disputes unless our Terms are violated.

All users must engage in fair play and good sportsmanship. Prohibited behaviors include:

• Collusion: Cooperating with other teams to gain unfair advantages
• Roster Dumping: Intentionally weakening your team to help another team
• Multiple Accounts: Creating multiple accounts to manipulate leagues
• Sharing Accounts: Allowing others to access your account
• Exploiting Bugs: Using software bugs or glitches for competitive advantage
• Harassment: Engaging in abusive, threatening, or offensive behavior

Violations may result in account suspension or termination.

Draft rules are set by the league commissioner. Standard draft features include:

• Snake (serpentine) or standard draft order
• Timed picks with auto-selection for timeouts
• Custom roster positions and requirements

Draft results are final once the draft is completed. We cannot undo drafts or reassign players after draft completion.

Roster management features include:

• Waivers: Dropped players enter a waiver period before becoming free agents
• Game Lock: Players lock when their real-world game begins
• Add/Drop: Add free agents and drop players from your roster
• Trades: Propose and accept trades with other teams (subject to commissioner approval if enabled)

All roster transactions are subject to league settings configured by the commissioner.

You agree not to:

• Violate any local, state, national, or international law or regulation
• Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of Citrus or any third party
• Transmit any harmful code, viruses, or malware
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) without our express written permission
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Collect or store personal data about other users without consent
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without authorization
• Engage in spam, phishing, or unsolicited advertising
• Post or transmit obscene, offensive, or illegal content
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users

The Service and all content, features, and functionality (including but not limited to software, code, text, graphics, logos, icons, images, and design) are owned by Citrus Fantasy Hockey and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our express written permission.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

You retain ownership of content you create (team names, league names, messages, etc.). By submitting content to our Service, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content as necessary to provide the Service.

If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us the right to use that feedback without any obligation to compensate you.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services (such as NHL.com) that are not owned or controlled by Citrus. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.

We rely on third-party services:

• Supabase: Database and authentication
• Firebase: Hosting and analytics
• NHL API: Player statistics and game data

These services are subject to their own terms of service and privacy policies.

We strive to provide continuous access to our Service, but we cannot guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free operation
• That defects will be corrected immediately
• That the Service will be available at all times

We may suspend or discontinue the Service for maintenance, upgrades, or other reasons without prior notice.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without liability to you. We may also change these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms on this page.

Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification.

The Citrus fantasy hockey app is free to use.

You may terminate your account at any time by:

• Accessing the "Delete Account" option in your Settings
• Contacting our support team at CitrusFantasySports@Gmail.com

Upon termination, your account and personal data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in fraudulent, illegal, or harmful activity
• Your account has been inactive for 2+ years
• We are required to do so by law
• We decide to discontinue the Service

We are not liable for any damages resulting from account termination.

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service immediately ceases
• Your leagues may be orphaned or reassigned to other commissioners
• Your personal data will be handled per our Privacy Policy
• Historical league data may be anonymized rather than deleted

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to:

• Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free
• Warranties regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of content

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CITRUS FANTASY HOCKEY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed $100 USD.

We are not liable for:

• Actions or conduct of other users
• Disputes between users or leagues
• Commissioner decisions within leagues
• Content posted by users
• Errors or inaccuracies in official NHL statistics

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Citrus Fantasy Hockey, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising out of or related to:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
• Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that:

• You may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify
• Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property violations

YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO PARTICIPATE IN CLASS ACTIONS.

Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us at CitrusFantasySports@Gmail.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We commit to working with you in good faith to reach a resolution.

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Citrus Fantasy Hockey regarding the Service.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, terrorism, labor disputes, or internet service failures.

BY USING OUR SERVICE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ THESE TERMS OF SERVICE AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THEM.
